Eco Friendly Printers
There has always been a delicate balance between man and the environment, and reducing our business impact on this planet is an ongoing concern at Crown Design and Print.
We are proud to say we were forerunners in eco-friendly printing and were the first UK print company to install a chemical-free plate making system. This system uses no chemicals or water and produces significant reductions in waste, disposal costs, energy and maintenance.
We also put in place a series of recycling practices – simple things like recycling, chemical free processing and waste management, winning us more environmental awards. Our print quality remained exceptionally high throughout these changes and productivity increased.
We were pleased to discover that these environmentally friendly measures helped us to attract a lot more print business from ethical charities and eco-minded companies.
Our Environmental Management System (EMS) adheres to ISO 14001 standards and we are able to supply recycled and FSC papers.
ISO 14001
This is an internationally recognised scheme. It provides a framework for environmental awareness, monitoring and continual improvement. The 3 Key areas are:
• Compliance with environmental regulation
• Prevention of pollution
• Improvement in environmental performance |
FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Chain of Custody
By holding the FSC Chain of Custody certification the printer is able to use the FSC trademark on all publications printed on FSC certified or FSC recycled stock.
This certificate is about the fibre tracking process only and ensures that there is no contamination between FSC and non-FSC material.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-government organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the worlds’ forests.
The FSC has developed a system of forest certification and product labelling that allows consumers to identify wood and wood products from well-managed forests. The FSC certifies that forests are managed in an environmentally, socially beneficial and economically viable manner.

One final thing, eco-friendly printing doesn’t mean your print will cost more – we don’t charge extra for something we do naturally.
